First I sifted the flour, because for some time I use only mill flour, without additives.
I put all the ingredients for the dough in the bread machine and I started the machine on the kneading / leavening program, during which time I took care of the filling.
Since I didn't have kneaded cow's cheese, I used cottage cheese that I mixed with a box of mascarpone. I added the rest of the ingredients one by one and I obtained a fairly consistent and flavorful cream cheese.
When the dough was ready, I divided it into two pieces. I spread a piece on the bottom of the tray lined with baking paper, and I divided a piece into 3 other pieces, which I twisted in my palms and formed 3 "cords" that I braided.
We place the braid along the wall of the tray, like a wreath, and in the middle we pour the cream cheese and level it. If we have a little dough left, we can form spirals or a cross in the middle of the tray, which we place on the cream layer. Garnish with candied lemon pieces.
Leave the tray in a warm place, approx. 30-40 minutes, until the dough doubles in volume.
Beat an egg yolk with a tablespoon of sugar and a tablespoon of milk, then grease the Easter egg and put the tray in the hot oven and let it cook over low heat for 45-50 minutes.
When the Easter is brown, and the dough passes the toothpick test, we stop the fire and take out the Easter by pulling on the baking paper. Let the Easter cool completely, then slice and serve.
