Created in 2007 by late spirits pioneer Rob Cooper, St-Germain is a French elderflower liqueur that has quickly become a staple in craft cocktail bars around the world (so much so that it once earned the nickname “bartender’s ketchup”). Throughout history, aromatic elderflower blossoms were widely praised for their medicinal properties. You don't need a prescription to enjoy this delicious cordial today. Fresh and delicate, St-Germain combines well with white wine or Champagne, making its namesake cocktail the perfect apéritif for a breezy summer evening.

  • 1 1/2 ounces St-Germain
  • 2 ounces dry white wine or Champagne
  • club soda, to top
  • Garnish: lemon peel
  1. Add the St-Germain and wine into a Collins glass over ice and stir.

  2. Top with club soda.

  3. Garnish with a lemon twist.
