Sometimes I feel the need for something more interesting, with a special taste. Are you tempted by a salad with brussels sprouts, apples and nuts?

This salad with brussels sprouts, apples and nuts is a perfect combination of sweet, salty, sour and crunchy. You say I described the PowerPuff Girls: "sweet, sour and something charming". Ha, Ha, Ha!

Joke aside, I can tell you that it is a filling, fresh salad and it is ready in a few minutes. And you know what? It can also be served as a garnish next to a piece of simple cooked meat (chicken, pork or even beef).

1 cup half fresh brussels sprouts (not frozen)
Sano Vita cranberries

PREPARATION
Wash the brussels sprouts and apples under running water. Put the brussels sprouts on the wide knife of a grater and put it in a bowl. Cut the apples into suitable pieces / slices and put them in a bowl over the brussels sprouts.

If you want, you can also cut the walnuts with a knife into small pieces or you can leave them whole. Put the walnuts and cranberries in the same bowl.

How do you make the dressing?

Put in a small jar the juice of a lemon, 4 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of honey, 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper (to taste). Put the lid on the jar and shake the whole composition for a few seconds. If you want you can put the ingredients in a smaller bowl and mix them with a fork.

I prefer to make the dressing in a jar because that way I can shake the whole composition better. I also often make a larger amount, so a jar is perfect because I can put it in the fridge and use the rest of the dressing for other salads.

Pour the dressing over all the ingredients in the bowl and mix well with a spoon. Serve with a little grated Parmesan on top.


Cabbage salad with vegetables & # 8211 a delicious salad, full of vitamins

  • 2 kg bell peppers of different colors, 1 kg tomatoes
  • 1 kg onion, 1 kg carrots, 200 ml sunflower oil

  • 1 bunch of dill, 1 sachet spices for pickles, sugar (to taste)

Method of preparation:

Finely chop the cabbage and place it in a large container. We wash the peppers well, clean them of seeds and cut them into strips. Wash the tomatoes and chop them finely. Rinse the dill and finely chop it. Peel an onion and cut it into small pieces.

Peel a squash, grate it and squeeze the juice. Put all the chopped and grated vegetables in the bowl with the grated cabbage. Mix well. We pour vinegar and sunflower oil. Add sugar (to taste) and pickle spices and mix again. Cover the container with a blanket. We put him aside for a few hours.

After a few hours, the vegetable juice will drain. We fill the jars with cabbage and vegetable salad. We cover them with lids and sterilize them.

We put a clean cloth or a kitchen towel on the bottom of a pot. We put the jars in the pot and pour enough water to reach the "number" of the jars. Sterilize the jars for a few minutes, depending on the size of the jars.

Then remove the jars from the pot, cover them with a blanket and let them cool. After they have cooled completely, we store them in a dark and cool place, preferably in the cellar or pantry.

When we want to serve a delicious and healthy salad, we open a jar with cabbage and vegetables. Good appetite and increase cooking!
